Who must report personal property to St. Francois County?
Everyone owning personal property and residing in St. Francois County January 1st of the year should submit their itemized list to the Assessor on or before the first day of March each year. 
      
What if I have not received a personal property list in the mail?
You should contact the Assessor's Office - Personal Property Department for a form to be mailed to you or you may come into the office to submit a form.

How are motor vehicles valued?
Personal property is assessed at 1/3 of the retail value of the item being assessed.  The retail value is obtained from the most current National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) book per RSMo. 137.115.

How do I avoid paying penalties?
To avoid any penalties you should report your personal property in the prescribed time period, January 1 thru March 1 of each year.
